Using redarc sys in my’19 144 4wd for 2 years. Love 95% of it. Seems so many a builders use all the blue components at 2x the price for reasons I’ve never quite understood. I worry they’ll get too big ant their top-rate lil team of customer service techs will get clobbered. They’re first rate.

If I wanted to get rid of my 12 volt plug, I'd buy the Mopar one. Every install I've seen shows the unit mounted elsewhere to keep the 12 volt outlet. Time to redo this video. I was just getting ready to hit the purchase button!

The install was not nearly as easy and certainly not 30 minutes!! Still haven’t found the plug for my trailer brake under the dash in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. Gave up after 3 hours of searching and trying to find info online. 😭

Just had mine installed by the auto sparky. They also give you a pack of cards and stubby holder👍. Rather get a hat Redarc ? ? But seriously, I went Redarc for the confidence of quality as I’ll be towing a new caravan around the country, and installed by someone who knows what they’re doing. Pretty happy with the gear.

Quick question regarding hill decent in my Ford Ranger. While descending off road using hill decent control (vehicle brake lights come on) will the trailer brakes be activated? I’m assuming if so manual mode would be best in this situation. Thanks

Without using the Rouge or larger TVMS but still using the Redvision display. I assume you cannot control individual lights, 12v, etc with the display. Is that correct?

Just installed on 2023 4Runner Limited. The main difference is the left side of the center panel that has to come off isn't just the trim piece over the left edge. In mine, the whole center panel had to come loose. I grabbed the very bottom left rear corner (black textured plastic) and pulled hard with a plastic hook tool, though good strong fingers might work. Other difference was the mounting hole was occupied by what might be something to do with auto high-beams or auto-on/off headlights. I just used the bottom hole and used the other two slots on the controller so it was above the bracket when mounted. It was much easier to remove the lower panel entirely, but getting that hood release reconnected was fussy. I didn't buy that mounting bracket. $27 ($41 with shipping) is robbery! That bracket should be included in the box for any install. I bent a piece of 1/16" steel I had lying around and used it. I used 1/4-20 bolt and nut for the bracket to the 4Runner and pop rivets for the controller to the bracket, but I think #6 machine screws would work. I didn't have any #6 screws but I had pop rivets. I wasn't going to disconnect the battery, but when I saw I was working near a knee air bag, I pulled that negative battery terminal right off!

10/10 instructions. Like some others have said, there are a lot of instructional videos out there. Hardest part was cleaning up the wires…. Or not having someone to hold a flashlight for me. Thank you!

can i use this on my 2016 4Runner?

Can add a second red vision panel into my vehicle ( 1 up front where I’m driving & 1 in the rear when I’m set up at camp and can monitor at the back when cooking etc) ?

I wire it to the factory harness according to there website but the right signal and brake lights doesn’t work.after contacting customer service ,they admit the wiring is good but they ask me to buy the plug and play cable .guess what still not working.don’t but this product for Toyota 4 runner

So is there not a way to manually apply just the trailer brakes without pushing the brake pedal? Like most other brake controllers? I test my trailer brakes before each trip using the manual switch.

My car battery kept dying despite jump starting from another car so I bought this exact charger. It charged enough to start it again and not have any issues for couple weeks but then battery randomly died again, charged once more and again. Keep in mind charger never showed full charge even after 24 hours. So I thought the battery is dead. So I got a new battery and right away plugged in to see who is lying 😅 and again the charger shows it’s charging… I don’t know if the new battery is also bad or the charger is not showing correctly.
